1. Do I have to order
in advance of the race?
No.
We film all runners and can make a personal MyMarathonDVD
for any finisher. However,
MyMarathonDVD is available for a limited time only. Order
now! TOP
2. When will I receive MyMarathonDVD?
Delivery
times vary depending on the volume of orders, but MyMarathonDVD
typically begins shipping about 6 weeks after the race. See information on your individual event for details. You will receive
an email notification after your DVD has shipped. TOP
3. Will I see myself in MyMarathonDVD?
Absolutely! We guarantee it! Our multiple cameras are strategically
positioned at selected timing points to guarantee that every
runner is
filmed numerous times.
If the course is very crowded
(e.g., the start) at a timing point or you are
running on the edge or off the road, you may be obstructed
in that particular shot. But with so many cameras on
the course, you are bound to see yourself numerous times.
In the unlikelihood that you don't see yourself in MyMarathonDVD,
you may request a refund. TOP
4. What
is the Free Personal Video Message?
The Free Personal Video Message is a DVD extra you can
record at the Race Expo before the Marathon. Visit the MyMarathonDVD Expo booth to film the short
video by yourself or with family & friends.
The Personal
Video Message will appear as a separate menu item
on your DVD. Participants are limited to 1 message
per DVD.
Pre-purchase
of MyMarathonDVD is required to film the personal video
message. The personal
video message is optional and can only be filmed at the Race
Expo. See information on your individual event for details. TOP
5. How many video
cameras will be used?
MyMarathonDVD uses multiple cameras and angles
at various timing points, usually the Starting Line, 10K, Half
Marathon, 30K, and the Finish
Line. Additional cameras are used by our professional
highlights photographers assigned to numerous locations on
the course throughout the race. See
information on your individual event for details. TOP
6. How can
you film every runner?
MyMarathonDVD developed a technology that
allows us to film every runner on the course at selected locations.
Our
personalized DVDs are produced using an automated system
that is able to pick out any runner from hours of video. TOP
7. Will my name and times appear on the screen?
Yes. Each time one of your personal video clips is shown,
a subtitle on the screen lists your name, race
number, and
official time at that location. TOP
8. Is the video high-quality?
Yes. We use only broadcast-quality professional 3-CCD digital
cameras with high-quality lenses. TOP
9. Is there sound on MyMarathonDVD?
Yes. The stereo audio is recorded at the DVD standard 48
kHz sampling rate, the announcer's voice-over is recorded in
a professional studio, the music is CD quality, and the ambient
sound is recorded live. All audio is mixed in the Dolby® digital
format. TOP
10. Can I select scenes?
Yes. MyMarathonDVD™ employs all of the same DVD menu
options and controls that you see with Hollywood DVD-Videos.
You can play the entire program, pause, repeat, or jump to
any selected scene in the video using your
DVD remote control. TOP
11. Will the camera follow
me?
With thousands of runners, that would be impossible. The
cameras are stationary and mounted high up on tripods. Runners
are filmed as they pass through each scene. TOP
12. Can I feature more
than one runner on MyMarathonDVD?
MyMarathonDVD is personalized for each individual
runner. At this time it is not possible to feature more than
1 participant on a DVD unless the runners were together crossing
each of timing points. TOP
13. Can I preview my
race video?
Unfortunately we cannot provide each finisher the
opportunity to preview his or her own race video.
That's why we offer a money-back guarantee.
You can view sample video on
our website. Note: the internet is not the best
for viewing video of marathons. We
use high-quality digital video cameras to film the race but
for our online samples we must use low-resolution video clips. TOP
14. Are all the video
clips the same length?
Depending on the scene and the camera angle, some shots
will be "long" (clips up to 45 seconds) and others
will be "tight" or "wide" (producing shorter
clips). TOP
15. How long is MyMarathonDVD?
The feature program will be 20 to 25 minutes
long. Your personal clips average from 20 to 30 seconds each
for a total of about 4 minutes. TOP
16. What is on MyMarathonDVD?
The feature program combines race highlights
with your personal video clips and a digital finisher certificate
displaying your official results, including split times and
placements. There are also DVD menus, course maps, scenic video,
etc. TOP
17. Will MyMarathonDVD play on my DVD player and computer?
For the best viewing experience, we highly recommend
that you watch your MyMarathonDVD™ on a television. The
DVD-R disc is compliant with international DVD-Video standards
and should play on any DVD player connected to a television.
The DVD-R should also play in a DVD-ROM drive connected to
a compatible Windows® or Macintosh® computer system.
Some older Windows DVD-ROM drives may require a software codec
to play DVD-Video (MPEG-2). TOP
18. Will MyMarathonDVD play in foreign countries like
Japan?
Yes. The region code is set to play in
ALL regions. TOP
19. Is there a PAL version for Europe?
All of our cameras record in the NTSC-standard format.
However, almost all DVD players sold in Europe play both kinds
of discs. These multi-standard DVD players partially convert
the NTSC signal to PAL and most modern TVs can interpret this
signal. TOP
20. Can I make copies of MyMarathonDVD?
No. MyMarathonDVD is encrypted for copy-protection.
All MyMarathonDVD content is protected by copyright. Additional
copies of your DVD are available for purchase at a discount
rate. Please indicate
quantity desired
when ordering. TOP
21. What if I can't run or don't finish
the marathon?
If for some reason you are unable to run or do not
finish the race, you may request a refund or we will send you
a highlights DVD. TOP
22. What if I finish the marathon
late?
MyMarathonDVD films every runner on the course for as long
as the timing mats are in place. Once the timing mats are removed
and/or the finish line is being dismantled, we are required
to remove our cameras from the course. TOP
